Explanation:
I chose the request I made because I wanted to know if it's more dangerous to work at the dams or out in the communities for BC Hydro. I was also curious as to how often injuries happen in this line of work and it would be good for anyone who is looking to work for BC Hydro to know about the risks of the job before applying. I would think that it's a lot more dangerous at the dams compared to working elsewhere for the company so I wanted to put my theory to the test. BC Hydro also has on their website saying the dam was confirmed to be safe by an independent safety review so I wanted to see just how accurate that review was.

There is no designated FOI Coordinator at BC Hydro, so they instead have an online request template that can be filled out here.
Good idea for your FOI request. Asking for data regarding safety is interesting and good idea to ask for cause of injury. That way you can know if hydro is at fault or if the employee is.
ReplyDeleteVery precise request for particular data, which looks like it will give you the information you are hoping to receive. I'm not sure what you could improve on but maybe requesting physical paperwork is not necessary and could cause some cost to you (printing/mailing fees?)
ReplyDeleteThe FOI request is precise, well-written, and includes all pertinent information, like the dates and categories of material requested. A explanation for the request would be beneficial as this could help the public body determine its scope and ensuring that it is completed in a timely and effective manner.
ReplyDeleteGood FOI request. It is well constructed request, precise and includes all necessary information needed but i feel the duration {Month} requested will make it more broad and elaborate. Suggest you reduce the duration.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea that you took to make this request form. From your form, I am able to know about injuries that happen at dam work. It was quite informative form and you explained reason behind writing this form, which was interesting.
ReplyDeleteIn her FOI request to the BC Coroners Office, Nicole Marquez requested investigative reports on suicides that occurred in Vancouver in 2014, primarily for people aged 50 to 59. The recent mental health crisis occurrence on the Alex Fraser Bridge and Marquez's wish to raise awareness about the problem were the driving forces behind her request. We value Marquez's effort to spread knowledge about suicide and act as a resource for people in need.
